PROGRAMS

Speech & Debate Canada Foundation's focus is to establish and operate school extracurricular debate clubs and debate spaces for free

Debate Club Program

  • Weekly program for 1 hour to foster debate literacy at no cost to the school or students.

  • Our instructor works with teachers to tailor the program towards the particular school and students.

  • Clubs typically run from September to May, but can be started at any time during the year.

  • The program is virtual or in person and can run either during or after class time, as needed.

  • Instructors are experienced debaters equipped with S&DCF’s extensive resources.

  • Each club serves 10–30 students in grades 6–12, with flexibility to add another coach if needed.

Debate Spaces Program

Debate Spaces creates custom debate literacy workshops for non-school organizations, with a focus on underprivileged and at-risk youth. The program equips participants with lifelong advocacy and communication skills to better navigate their futures. In 2024, for example, we partnered with Covenant House Toronto to bring these opportunities to vulnerable young people.
